This basin is located in an area known as Tal-Ibraġ, to the southeast of the Dwejra Tower. It consists of a rectangular basin cut into the upper coralline limestone, with a spout cut into its western side, leading to a smaller.

A circular but much shallower basin is hewn on the southern side of the latter, to which it is connected by a channel. No specific data exists with regards to the use of this basin.

Most probably the main basin was used for the settling of some sort of liquid; after which process the liquid was allowed to flow through the spout into a container that was placed in the smaller pit. This basin resembles a number of basins located in Wied Imġarr ix-Xini, already scheduled by Mepa in 2001, though to have been used for wine production.

Mepa scheduled the rock-cut basin as a Class B national monument as per Government notice 37 dated January 18.
