Health parliamentary secretary Chris Fearne said today that all the projects he had worked on with Health Minister Konrad Mizzi were “above board”.

Dr Mizzi is one of the people mentioned in the Panama scandal. He insists he is innocent.

Mr Fearne described Dr Mizzi as a focused person who had given a lot of his time and energy for the good of the country.

“I have learnt a lot from him particularly when it comes to project management. Whenever I have worked with him everything was above board. In fact, as mentioned by the prime minister yesterday, all the contracts involving Konrad [Mizzi] and I will be published in the coming months,” Mr Fearne said.

Asked if Dr Mizzi should resign, Mr Fearne said his colleague had made it very clear he would accept any decision by the prime minister.

Mr Fearne agreed with the Prime Minister’s wait-and-see approach.

“When all the information is available decisions will be taken. The prime minister has shown that he knows what is going on in the country, and will not shy away from taking the necessary decisions,” Mr Fearne said.
