This week the Anthropology Division is hosting the eminent social anthropologist writing in English on the Mediterranean region, Professor Michael Herzfeld of Harvard University. The events include:

• a work in progress seminar tomorrow at the Gateway Building, Hall E, from 6 to 8 p.m., where Professor Herzfeld will reply to papers by Dr David Zammit (University of Malta) and Professor David Nelkin (University of Wales) on Legal Culture and Court Delays in Malta and Italy; and

• a public lecture at the Aula Magna, Old University, on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. This lecture is co-chaired by Foreign Minister Michael Frendo and Dr Paul Clough on The Multiple Meanings of Security - The Cultural Aftershocks of Colonialism in the Mediterranean World.
