The President has issued his proclamation summoning parliament for the morning of April 6.

The first sitting will see the election and swearing-in of the Speaker and MPs followed by the address by the President, formerly known as the Speech from the Throne, which outlines the government's programme.

The youngest member on the government benches will then move a motion to thank the president.

The first business of the House is due to be the approval of the Budget.
