This year's prize-giving ceremony at St Ignatius College Primary, Siġġiewi was filled with spectacle and talent.

The evening opened with a performance by the school choir followed by a play written for the occasion by Ruth Borg Galea entitled Elina the Wingless Fairy, which provided the audience with an hour of drama, music and dancing.

Headmistress Jane Axisa spoke about the various school activities held during the scholastic year, ranging from purely academic activities to socio-educational experiences. This was accompanied by a Powerpoint presentation put together by assistant head Patrick Decelis.

Prizes were then awarded not only to pupils who were successful academically, but also to those who made an extra effort, who excelled in diligence, perseverance and creativity.

Education Minister Dolores Cristina was among the various dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
