Mother-of-three Marija Hammett 37 of Żabbar is to spend a day shadowing the prime minister, having won the Be Prime Minister for a Day contest held by the PN.

She was selected by a panel of judges this morning.

The PN said that more than 2,000 took part in the competition, whose purpose was for participants to make proposals to the PN. The judges were Christian Peregin (The Times) Norman Vella (Xarabank) and Chris Sultana (di-ve).

Mrs Hammet suggested that parents should be given greater assistance in the upbringing of their children through compulsory parenting skills for couples before they become parents and a supportline for parents.
