Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has had a meeting with Prince Khaled Bin Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, representing one of Saudi Arabia's biggest overseas investors. 

The Office of the Prime Minister said Prince Khaled was in Malta on behalf of Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, the chairman of Kingdom Holding Company.

The group, founded in 1980, is one of the world’s most successful and diversified business organisations, highly respected in the field of investments and recognized as an elite player in the Arabian Gulf region and internationally. Kingdom Holding Company is also one of the largest foreign investors in the United States, the OPM said.

Dr Muscat and Prince Khaled discussed the warm friendship between Saudi Arabia and Malta while referring to a number of investment, economic and social issues. The meeting also touched upon the latest economic developments.

Prince Khaled congratulated Dr Muscat and his government for the current status of Malta’s economy.

Kingdom Holding Company’s portfolio has major interests in luxury hotel management, such as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Mövenpick Hotels, toreal estate, such as Kingdom Tower, media and publishing, such as News Corporation and Fox, as well as social media and technology, such as Twitter, AOL and Apple, and entertainment, such as Disneyland, Paris.

 Prince Alwaleed  has been named twice by Forbes magazine as one of the most creative investors in the world.  Prince Khaled relayed Prince Alwaleed’s commitment to visit Malta in the near future.
