Gozo Bishop Mario Grech has said that priests do not have all the answers and he too is still seeking God.

"Like any other person, a priest is always looking for answers because not even he knows the whole truth... as a person in a quest for God, a priest can better understand those looking for Him," he said.

Whether it was those who had never heard of the Lord or those whose faith was weak, the priest's mission was to stimulate the pursuit for God in every person, he added. Speaking during a Pontifical Mass at the Gozo Cathedral last Friday to mark the 25th anniversary of his ordination as a priest, Mgr Grech said:

"I too am still looking for God. There were times in my life as a priest where I realised I was sometimes looking for Him in the wrong places, and then He found me. Now that the Lord has made me the shepherd of this diocese, I, who am looking for God, want to help you in your pursuit."

Mgr Grech celebrated Mass with Apostolic Nuncio Tommaso Caputo, Archbishop Paul Cremona, Bishop Nikol Cauchi, Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca, religious provincials and more than 100 priests.
