Former glamour model Katie Price played it for laughs by donning a fake moustache as she performed a dance routine dressed as Freddie Mercury.

The television personality, taking part in Let’s Dance For Comic Relief, took inspiration from the video for I Want To Break Free, in which the Queen frontman wore a tight pink top and black miniskirt.

Ms Price, whose son Junior and daughter Princess were in the audience, completed her look with a curly black wig and fake arm hair, arming herself with a feather duster.

She was one of two acts voted through to the next round of the BBC One charity competition, joining comedian Russell Kane in the final.

After learning she had beaten an act from BBC drama Waterloo Road to win the place, Ms Price admitted to being “so nervous” at taking part in the contest, but won praise from the celebrity panel.

Talk show host Graham Norton told her: “I love you, Katie Price. That was just fearless.

“You do so many things – novelist, model, singer – and now you can say you’re as good at dancing as everything else you do.”

Comedian Frank Skinner joked: “You look great with a moustache. That’s something to look forward to. You look sexy with a moustache.

“I thought you were an absolute star.”

Mr Kane won his place in the final on the strength of the audience vote, while Ms Price was voted through by the panel.

He wore a skimpy neon outfit to take to the stage as Beyonce, dancing to her single Crazy In Love in an energetic routine that led host Steve Jones to marvel at his flexibility.
