Two Sundays ago my family and I visited the Naxxar Christmas Village. Among the stands was one selling Christmas-themed tablecloths.

I was shocked when I saw their price tag: they were selling at €10, when just a week earlier I bought the same tablecloth from the market in Victoria for €16!

Another tablecloth was more elaborate, with some lace at the edge. In Naxxar it was selling for €20. For exactly the same tablecloth from the Victoria market, the seller was asking a staggering €45!

I expect the Naxxar seller was still making a reasonably good profit. So, what is the Gozitan one doing?

This is a real shame. This is daylight robbery. Don’t they have any Consumer Rights Division in Gozo?

Besides, how dare they expect Maltese to visit more frequently and spend our money in Gozo?
