The Sunday Times of Malta reports how a dog saved its owner, trapped in a cave for a day.It also says Archbishop Emeritus Cremona has denied trying to buy off the silence of an alleged victim of abuse by a priest.

Malta Today says a victim is to tell a court how a priest groomed her and other women. It also says the Curia has denied that the former Archbishop attempted to buy silence.

The Malta Independent on Sunday says one of the victims has claimed the priest told her to leave her husband and tried to kiss her. It also says that a Cabinet reshuffle is in the air.

It-Torca gives prominence to new police training to deal with domestic violence. It also carries a picture of yesterday’s rescue of a man trapped in a cave in Pembroke.

Il-Mument says Air China is ready to ‘swallow’ Air Malta.

Illum says Malta is making €350 million from the citizenship scheme.

KullHadd reports that Malta is among the top countries n the granting of civil rights.

The overseas press

al bawaba reports pro-government Libyan forces have recaptured areas of Benghazi seized by Islamist militiamen, as the number of those killed in the two-week-old government-backed offensive rose to 254 people. 

Le Soir quotes new European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker saying it was now time “to roll up our sleeves and get to work” as he took office.  

La Repubblica reports Italy has formally ended its Mediterranean sea rescue mission that has saved the lives of at least 100,000 migrants, mainly from Africa and the Middle East. 

Reuters says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged the country’s lawmakers to exercise restraint amid continuing tensions over Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque compound.  

Welt am Sonntag says Angela Merkel praised the “courage” of those who first opposed the former East Germany, emphasising their role in the fall of the Berlin Wall, ahead of 25th anniversary celebrations on November 9. 

France 24 reports violence has broken out in two French cities, Nantes and Toulouse, during protests over the death of an environmental activist, killed in clashes with police last week. 

According to AGI, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported airstrikes carried out by the US-led international coalition have helped clear the way for Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces to make their advance on Kobani. 

Mail on Sunday says celebrities and millionaires who were happy to pay $250,000 to travel into space on Richard Branson’s highly ambitious Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo still plan on taking the trip even after Friday’s horrific explosion.  

With three days to go before Tuesday’s midterm elections in the US, which could signal the end of Democrat control of the Senate, President Obama has promised to bring in new workplace and equal pay policies for women. Fox News reports that in his weekly Saturday radio broadcast, he said that even in 2014 there were women earning less than men for the same jobs, adding there was no room in his country for B-league citizens or workers.

Montreal Gazette reports a judge has condemned Google to pay $2,250 in damages to a Montreal woman, Maria Pia Grillo, who accused it of invading her privacy after a photo of her sitting outside of her house leaning forward and exposing part of her breasts appeared on Google Street View.  

Adnkronos says Italian farmers’ union Coldiretti is forecasting more flowers will be sold in Italy today to commemorate the dead than what was sold on Valentine’s Day.
