The President, accompanied by Mrs Fenech Adami, yesterday paid an official visit to Mġarr.

After Mass at the parish church, the President, accompanied by mayor Paul Vella, talked to residents on the church parvis before visiting Xandru Muscat, 89, and Roża Muscat, 95, to hear their recollections of Mġarr in the past.

Dr Fenech Adami also watched young footballers training at the Mġarr football nursery and had a look at the remains of Ta' Skorba Neolithic temples while Mrs Fenech Adami visited the Franciscan Sisters.

Later, the President enjoyed a walk in the countryside where he visited the Mġarr hamlet known as Is-Santi.
