President Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday visited the Marsa power station and met employees as part of the activities organised by Enemalta Corporation to mark the corporation's 30th anniversary.

Enemalta chairman Alexander J. Tranter and chief executive David Spiteri Gingell showed Dr Fenech Adami round and introduced him to employees most of whom have a history of long service with the corporation.

Mr Tranter said were it not for the skill and capability of past and present Enemalta employees, the progress registered by the corporation over the last 30 years would have not been possible.

President Fenech Adami also attended a Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca at the Holy Trinity parish church in Marsa.

On Saturday, Mgr Giovanni Gauci celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass at the cathedral in Victoria as part of the anniversary celebrations.

During Mass, Mgr Gauci blessed the foundation stone of the new Enemalta district office and distribution centre in Xewkija, construction work on which will begin later this year.
