President Eddie Fenech Adami leaves for Cyprus today at the invitation of the Cypriot Archbishop Chrysostomos II and the Comunita' di Sant'Egidio.

He will attend an international meeting for peace entitled 'The Civilisation of Peace: Faiths and Churches in Dialogue', organised jointly by the Church of Cyprus and the Comunita' di Sant'Egidio in Nicosia.

The President will address the opening session of the meeting this evening. Tomorrow, he will take part in a panel discussion about xenophobia and philoxenia entitled 'Welcoming the Stranger'.

The President will also meet Cypriot President Demetris Christofias and former presidents Glafkos Clerides, George Vassiliou and Tassos Papadopoulos.

Dr George Hyzler will be Acting President until Dr Fenech Adami returns to Malta on Wednesday.
