President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca is greeted by Tunisian President  Beji Caid Essebsi  in Carthage, Tunisia during a state visit.

The two heads of state discussed bilateral relations, cultural exchanges and relations with the EU. Tunisian media quoted her as saying that Malta is committed to boosting Tunisian-European co-operation during the Maltese presidency of the European Union in the first half of next year.

During her two-day visit the President laid flowers on the scene of an Isis shooting which killed many tourists last year, visited the Tunisia factory of Malta-based Bortex and also met members of the Maltese community.
