The Graffitti pressure group has criticised the presence of Nato ships in Grand Harbour, saying the presence of any warships went against the principles of peace and neutrality.

The group said the presence of foreign military powers went against the fundamental principles of peace and neutrality.

"The Maltese Constitution decrees that not only is Malta a neutral country, but also that it should actively work for peace. But how can our country work for peace when it is itself hosting vessels of war which are leading to the death of thousands of innocent people around the world?"

"We strongly oppose the presence of warships from whichever country or affiliation, because we feel that this is leading us to be direct accomplices in the wars that these military vessels participate in and the deaths that they contribute to,” the group said.
