Over the years, the De La Salle Drama Group has produced countless of professional shows within an amateur setting that have kept the audiences wondering why this group does not develop and grow further.

This year, the committee behind this drama group, made up of past De La Salle students and teachers, has decided to rebrand and become DLS Productions.

To celebrate such a move, DLS Productions is producing two big musicals this year. The first one is being held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (October 4-6) at De La Salle College. Produced in association with Limelight Musicals, Dazzle! tells the story of Poppy Pringle and the Dazzle Bay Fun Palace.

This ever-popular musical tells the story of Poppy Pringle, who inherits a run-down seaside fun fair. The inspirational show tells how she leads the colourful band of fairground children to save it from the bad guys and bulldozers – and restore it to its former glory. After some exciting thrills and spills along the way, they finally defeat Murgatroyd Megarich and his side-kicks and win the day.

With a cast of over 50 children, Dazzle! promises to be the children’s musical for this year’s theatrical season. The show marks the directorial debut for Thomas Camilleri who is co-directing with Noel Zarb. The vocal tuition is in the hands of Claire McCartin, while choreography is by Amy Caruana Dingli and Peter Camilleri, together with Lucienne Camilleri.
