Prague Zoo has a new star - a baby hippo.

The baby male, still to be named, was born on January 28. He now lives in an enclosure in Prague with his mother, Maruska, and father, Slavek, a couple already popular among visitors.

Weighing 45kg at birth, the baby boy has now grown to 80kg.

The family, which is normally separated ahead of the birth, was reunited Friday. Visitors had the first chance to see them on Saturday and they have immediately become the zoo's star attractions.

The zoo says the hippo family's reunification has been unusually smooth so far.
