Hannes Bohinc and Giancarlo Cangiano took pole for OSG Racing on the eve of the first round of the 2009 Powerboat P1 World Championship, in today’s sprint in the Mercury-powered Outerlimits SV43.

With a time of 3min 02.88 over the 4.05 nautical mile lap and running at speeds of over 120 mph, the two former world champions will now look to take full advantage of their start position in tomorrow’s 45 mile race.

“It’s a good effort but tomorrow is the real thing,” says a cautious Hannes Bohinc, “The boat handled well and proved its speed and handling. The adrenalin is pumping again and we just want to get out there racing. Tomorrow can’t come quick enough.”
