Two policemen were punched before they managed to arrest a pick-pocket in St Julian's this afternoon.

The man, from Sierra Leone, was spotted pick-pocketing at St George's Bay. People on the scene tried to stop him, but he managed to run away after dragging one of them on the ground and punching others.

The police were called, and a patrol spotted him as he was about to board a bus. A struggle then ensued before the man was handcuffed and arrested.

Three mobile phones were found on his person, along with some cash.
