A fire engulfed the police vehicle compound at Ta' Kandja this afternoon. No one was injured.

The Civil Protection Department were informed of the fire at around 3.45 p.m. and managed to put it out in just over an hour

Six water bowsers were used.

The compound is used to store vehicles implicated in investigations and considered as potential evidence, as well as cars seized or held with registration tax issues.

The press was refused entry into the compound.
