A police sergeant was grievously injured early this morning when he was attacked by a man who refused to obey orders.

The police said in a statement today they were called at an establishment in Triq San Ġorġ, St Julian’s at 1am where a foreigner was being hostile to other clients.

The man refused to obey orders and punched the sergeant.

He was arrested and taken to the St Julian’s police statements while the sergeant was taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
