A policeman was bitten and left bruised by a man last night, the Malta Police Association said.

The police officer, sergeant Alexander Gauci, will now have to undergo tests in hospital. “He has six months until he knows everything is fine,” the police association.
In rare cases, it can take up to six months for a person to test positive for HIV.
Pictures uploaded on social media show Mr Gauci was left with bruises and scratches.
The same person that attacked the policeman had just been arraigned on charges of domestic violence, the police association said.
The association reiterated its appeal for better working conditions from the government.
