The accident happened at about 7.30 a.m. and involved a Kia driven by a 43-year old man from Valletta and a Mazda driven by a 39-year-old man from Zejtun. One of them crashed into a wall and damaged the second vehicle.

The officers turned up to give assistance and were assaulted by the 19-year-old woman, who was not directly involved in the accident but is a relative of one of those involved.

She was arrested, the police said.
