French President Francois Hollande and President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca will tomorrow afternoon lay a wreath at the Addolorata Cemetery to commemorate the fallen soldiers of World War I.

The Department of Information said parking will be restricted due to security.

The authorities also issued a list of road closures in Valletta and Floriana, air and marine restrictions including a ban on drones and light aviation throughout Maltese territory until Friday afternoon. 

UPDATED LIST OF ROAD CLOSURES IN VALLETTA, FLORIANA

The police this afternoon also listed roads and sites in Valletta and Floriana which will be closed for some time because of the Valletta summit tomorrow and on Thursday.

Roads in other localities will be closed briefly for the transit of dignitaries.

The MCP car park in Floriana will be open all day to both members and non-members.

The Upper and Lower Barrakka Gardens, Barrakka lift and Castille Place will be closed until Friday morning.

Valletta: Tomorrow from 2 p.m. till 11 p.m:

Ġlormu Cassar Avenue corner with War Memorial, stairway adjacent Parliament between Pjazza Teatru Rjal and Pope Pius V Street; South Street corner with Zachary Street; Ordinance Street corner with Pjazza de Valette; Merchants' Street corner with Melita Street; St Paul Street corner with Melita Street; St Ursola Street corner with Battery Street.

Tomorrow from 2 p.m. till early Friday morning or until the end of the summit:

Lascaris seafront corner with Crucifix Wharf; Barriera wharf corner with Liesse Hill; Mediterranean Road corner with St Nicholas Street; East Street corner with St Christopher Street; St Paul Street corner with St Dominic street; St Dominic Street corner with East Street;

St Ursola Street corner with St Nicholas Street, St Paul Street corner with St Nicholas Street; Merchants Street corner with Hospital Street; Merchants Street corner with North Street; Republic Street corner with Triq l-Ixprun; St Sebastian Street corner with Republic Street; St Sebastian street corner with Triq l-Ixprun; St Sebastian street corner with Bakery Street; St Sebastian Street corner with West Street

Maritime restrictions

Maritime Restriction Zones (MRZs) and a Maritime Exclusion Zone (MEZ) have been established around the coastline as follows:

- The Maritime Exclusion Zone comprises Valletta Harbour and its approach. No navigation or transit within this zone will be permitted as follows:

• Tomorrow  between 5.15pm and 6.30pm and between 9.30pm and 11pm

• Thursday between 7.30 and 9.45am and between 12.45pm and 2pm.

The Maritime Restriction Zones comprise Marsamxett Harbour and a zone off St George’s Point. Any maritime activity and navigation may be restricted in these designated MRZs and thus any vessels operating in these zones are to ensure constant watch on VHF channel 16 and comply with any instructions issued by the relevant authorities. Restrictions in these zones will be in placeuntil 7pm on Friday.  

Mariners have beeninstructed to comply with instructions given by Valletta Port Control (VTS), the Armed Forces of Malta, TM Enforcement and other authorized patrol vessels. Only authorized vessels will be allowed to transit or enter the restricted zones.

Air Restrictions

Flying of drones used for recreational and / or commercial activities as well as local flights by general aviation aircraft for pleasure or flight instruction will not be permitted over Maltese territory until Friday afternoon.
