A police inspector suffered a fractured foot this afternoon when he intervened to stop a Somali man who was damaging a route bus.

The incident happened outside the airport departures lounge shortly before 2 p.m.

The inspector accompanied by another policeman were called to the bus after the Somali man, 31, who holds a Norwegian passport, argued with the driver and started damaging the bus.

The man then kicked the inspector, fracturing his foot.

He was later arrested.
