The Police Force marked its 196th anniversary with a series of activities last Tuesday.

Mass was celebrated by Gozo chaplain Mgr Emanuel Curmi and Malta chaplain Fr Raymond Bonnici at Santa Marija cemetery in Victoria, followed by the blessing of graves where members of the Police force are buried. Flowers were placed by Police Commissioner John Rizzo and other entities.

Later on, the Precision Drill Team, under the direction of Inspector Stephen Mallia, and the dogs section gave shows at St Francis Square, Victoria. The Police Band, under the direction of Anthony Cassar, also took part.
