The police have denied that they issued any permit for a party in Gozo next week to continue up to 4 a.m.

The denial was issued after a newspaper reported today that an open-air government-sponsored event had been given clearance to play music up to 4 a.m. while the Creamfields music festival at Gianpula was limited to 2 a.m..

The owners of Gianpula had claimed discrimination.

A court yesterday rejected an application by the owners of Gianpula for an urgent hearing to extend the hours.
