The Police Cybercrime Unit has been requested to investigate an advert which appeared in Maltapark today where a mother offered her son for adoption.

Maltapark said the advert was removed as soon as it was notified about it and the police were called.

The advertiser, thought to be the boy’s mother, said the four-year-old boy was being offered for adoption and needed a family.

“Can’t live with me since I’m single and can’t buy him food and other things,” the advertiser said.

She gave an e-mail address but did not provide a phone number.

Adoptions are legally regulated and have to be approved by the Adoption Service of Appogg Agency.
