The police are holding a 22-year-old Valletta man for questioning after he allegedly tried to steal from a petrol station in Sliema early yesterday morning.

The police said they received an anonymous phone call just after midnight saying that a person was acting suspiciously. Officers went to investigate and found an individual inside a petrol station which the police believe he was trying to rob.

The police are still investigating.
