The police this evening arrested seven Croatian supporters of Hajduk Split after incidents at Ta’Qali stadium during a match against Birkirkara.

The incidents happened when the police intervened after a flare was lit by the Croatians and a number of seats were set on fire.

The police were attacked by the Croatians and the SAG intervened to restore order.

The Croatian supporters were kept in the stadium as a precaution after the match ended and then transported to the airport by the police for a chartered flight.

The seven people kept under arrest are to be arraigned in court.

Hajduk won the UEFA Cup preliminary round match 3-0 and advance to the next round with a 7-0 aggregate.
