The police have made 11 arrests in three operations by the Drug Squad over the past few days.

At San Gwann, four men and a woman aged between 22 and 45 were arrested after heroin, cocaine and cannabis were found in their possession. The arrests followed investigations into drug trafficking from a residence. The arrested persons are from Marsa, Birkirkara, Swieqi and San Gwann.

One of them, a 45-year-old man from San Gwann has already been arraigned and charged with drug possession.

In another operation in Fgura a further four men aged 19 to 31 were arrested after being found in posession of heroin, cannabis resin and drug-related material. The searches were made near the Bocci club. The men are from Vittoriosa, Pieta, Senglea and Fgura.

In the third operation, two men were arrested in Cospicua following days of observation during which the police noted drug trafficking. Drug packets for trafficking were found hidden in a wall. The arrested men, aged 42 and 43, are both from Cospicua.

Investigations are continuing, the police said.
