Bikers young and old, including a number of police officers, met at the Police Garage in Floriana this morning and embarked on a charity ride around Malta in aid of Dar Arka in Gozo.

The ride was organised as part of Police Day activities. Participants included assistant commissioners Andrew Seychell and Pierre Calleja.

The police headquarters in Floriana is today open to the public as part of the activities.

Visitors can enjoy a police vehicles exhibition and activities by the Police Band, the Precision Drill Team and the Dog Section.

The wartime shelters beneath the headquarters, turned into a display of the war-time era when the site was used by the British government as a hospital, as well as the police museum, are also open.

Activities this evening continue in Bugibba at 8.30 p.m. with displays by the police band, the Precision Drill Team and the Dogs Section.
