As a citizen of Malta, I feel that I have the right to demand some answers from our Prime Minister on issues that everyone and his dog are talking about in this country.

I am seriously concerned about the irreparable monumental blunders coming out of the authority entrusted to protect our environment. Even those who are willing to stick their neck out in the name of what's left of our environment are being attacked and silenced by government officials who clearly have overstepped the line.

The silence of the Prime Minister is deafening. The people of this country now want the facts. It has now surfaced that in 2005, 23 ODZ applications filed by a particular architect were refused by the case officers and later approved by the DCC. How many more applications were filed by this architect to be overturned by the DCC in 2006, 2007, and 2008?

How can a party that won the last election waving a green flag, giving the impression that the environment is now the priority, still have such individuals hanging around its neck like an albatross? We even heard Jeffery Pullicino Orlando claim it is true that he sent many messages over the Mistra application, but he does that for any of his constituents.

Valleys are being raped one after another: Madliena, Mistra, Baħrija, Għajn Żejtuna, Mosta, Wied tal-Madonna in Mellieħa, etc. etc. Apart from valleys it is villages, towns, bays...

Mepa staff and particularly DCC board members should be approached like judges in a courtroom. Their decisions can involve millions of euros. Instead, DCC members in this country are inundated by phone calls from politicians, speculators, architects and anyone with a vested interest in the project. How can such decisions be impartial?

When, I ask the Prime Minister, will we be getting a breath of fresh air? Our children are using inhalers in the summer. From my apartment alone I can count 32 building sites all within what used to be the village core, no more than in a 400 metre radius.
