Nationalist Party employees have not received their April salaries as the party continues to struggle with cash flow difficulties. This is the second consecutive month that workers have not been paid at the end of the month. Most employees had received their March salaries in mid- April.

PN general secretary Paul Borg Olivier yesterday confirmed that the party was still facing cash flow problems and said salary payments would be structured.

“The cash flow problem is not over, notwithstanding the strong asset base. Salaries will keep on being rolled out in a structured manner. I have nothing more to add,” he said.

The party and its media companies are believed to employ around 150 people.

Workers said although most of them were paid their March salary in mid-April, they were still waiting for the overtime they accumulated during the electoral campaign and had not received their €120 March government bonus.

They complained they were being left in the dark on the situation and were not even being told whether it was improving.
