Pawlu Aquilina, the Nationalist Party local councils' coordinator, died yesterday morning. He was 69.

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi described Mr Aquilina as a dedicated person who worked within the party's structures.

He had also contested the 1976 general election. Mr Aquilina remained active and was present during the first session of the PN's general council last Friday.
