In-Nazzjon editor Alexander Attard and then-journalist Matthew Bonnett have been ordered to pay €3,000 by a court which found that an article in the newspaper on May 6, 2014 had libelled Labour MP Silvio Schembri and his wife Deandra.

The article had stated that Mr Schembri and his wife, who was pregnant at the time, had eight jobs with the government between them.

This, the Labour Party said in a statement, had been acknowledged as a lie by the courts.

Another bubble had burst in the face of Opposition leader Simon Busuttil and his unlimited negativity and bitterness, the PL said.
