The PN leadership visited the counting hall at Naxxar this afternoon in a bid to up the spirits of party canvassers and supporters on duty.

Asked whether the result showed that the people had not yet understood the party’s message on citizenship, civil unions and meritocracy, party leader Simon Busuttil reiterated what he said during a news conference earlier this afternoon that the PN accepted the people’s verdict and this was a time for the party to reflect deeply.

Dr Busuttil was accompanied by deputy leaders Beppe Fenech Adami and Mario de Marco.

Dr Fenech Adami said society in Malta was changing continuously and radically and the PN’s challenge was to make the necessary changes to remain relevant to current society.

Roberta Metsola, who is well on the way to be elected MEP, said she will speak about her performance following the official result.
