The Opposition has presented a private member's Bill aimed to introduce and enforce rights to safeguard privacy and informational self-determination and to include access to ICT as a fundamental right enshrined in the constitution.

The bill was presented this morning by PN deputy leader Mario de Marco accompanied by Opposition MPs Claudette Buttigieg, Kristie Debono and David Agius.

Speaker Anglu Farrugia said the Bill was an important initiative that guarded against possible invasion of one's privacy.

He lauded the Opposition for taking initiatives to update the constitution, following the Tuesday's presentation of another private member's Bill introducing safeguards against discrimination on grounds of disability.
