The Nationalist Party had demanded an explanation from the prime minister over an alleged big payment received by his chief of staff Keith Schembri, a few days after he visited Azerbaijan in a government delegation.
The party noted that Opposition leader Adrian Delia had asked the prime minister to explain media reports that Mr Schembri had received $430,000 five days after the visit to Baku.
The #people have the right to know the truth. Yesterday @JosephMuscat_JM replied to my questions by discarding all allegations. Today fresh details have emerged about the payments from #Baku. Will he retract and take immediate action? #transparency #Malta

Dr Muscat had dismissed the report, which Manuel Delia published on his blog, and said Mr Schembri was denying the story as an "invention".
Since then more details had been revealed on the dates and manner how the payments were made.
Would Dr Muscat and Mr Schembri now change their version or would they continue to insist that the claims were made-up, the PN asked.
