The Nationalist Party has complained about the way Public Broadcasting Services reported the story about the employment of Minister Konrad Mizzi’s wife in its news bulletin yesterday.

The PN said PBS not only failed to follow the story, which was of national interest, but it also tried to mitigate the importance of a news conference given by the Nationalist Party on the matter.

PBS, the PN said, reported the PN’s conference towards the end of its news service giving more importance to a statement by Malta Enterprise even though this failed to answer the legitimate questions raised by the Opposition.

PBS, the PN said, was continually using its newsroom as a tool to defend the government and cover its mistakes. This was not acceptable and went completely against what had been promised by Dr Muscat during the electoral campaign.

The PN's letter to PBS head of news Reno Bugeja and the Broadcasting Authority can be read in the pdf link below.
