The Nationalist Party has appointed a commission to conduct a scientific and sociological study of Maltese society and make recommendations on changes it needs to make in its policies and organisation to ensure it is more representative and responsive to the people's aspirations.

The commission be led by Dr Joe Cassar. The members are Dr Edward Curmi, Marisa Vella, Dr Reuben Balzan, Dr Roberta Lepre, Peppi Azzopardi, Stephania Dimech Sant and Dr Simon Mercieca.

The PN said the commission will investigate how the various components of society view the party and other parties and identify the sectors which the PN needs to give more importance to.

PN leader Simon Busuttil said the PN was seeking to be more representative of society and the commission was an important tool for the party to remain up to date in this regard.
