The Nationalist Party has called on Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco not to continue hearing cases until impeachment proceedings against him are exhausted.

The judge was in court as usual this morning, despite a report by the Commission for the Administration of Justice finding prima facie misbehaviour and breach of ethics.

PN Justice spokesman Beppe Fenech Adami said Justice Farrugia Sacco's decision to continue to hear cases was not helpful for the administration of justice and continued to undermine the respect and confidence which the people should have in the judiciary.

He said the PN felt that the judge should himself decide not to hear cases until Parliament took its decision on the impeachment motion,

The PN also renewed its call for the impeachment motion to be put on the agenda of the House as soon as possible
