The Nationalist Party this evening accused the Broadcasting Authority of an 'obscene u-turn' after it rejected its replies to comments made by Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi on Dissett, despite having originally awarded the party three minutes of airtime.

In a strongly-worded statement the PN recalled that last week the Broadcasting Authority awarded it three minutes of airtime to react to comments made by Dr Mizzi after finding that some of his comments in reply to questions on Dissett were political views on which the party had a right of reply.

The PN said it duly sent its reply to be read by programme presenter Reno Bugeja in last Wednesday's edition, but the BA decided it should not be read since it was deemed libelous.

After making some changes, the PN said it was today informed by the BA that it could not refer to the secret Panama companies in its reply.

"Not only has the Broadcasting Authority changed its own decision within a week, but now the Authority is even stopping the Nationalist Party from speaking about the Panama companies scandal," the PN said.

It called on the BA chairman to review this 'obscene u-turn'.
