Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this morning denied that there was a connection between the Nationalist Party and the movement against divorce.

Replying to questions about whether the PN media had refused adverts by the Divorce Movement and about links with the no movement, he said he was worried that sections of the media were denying access to the anti-divorce movement.

This, he said, was not about advertising - which was a financial matter.

What was worrying was that the voice of the two camps was not being equally heard, and that was harmful in a mature democracy.

The PN media, he said, was open even to the pro-divorce movement. This, he said, was the most important aspect and not the financial issue.
