Prime Minister Joseph Muscat had meetings with the Presidents of Tunisia and Lebanon, Mohamed Moncef Marzouki and Michel Sleiman, respectively.

The meetings were held in New York where the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly is being held.

With the Tunisian President, Dr Muscat stressed Malta's commitment to strengthen ties and commercial relations.

In his meeting with the Lebanese President, he expressed concern at the situation in Syria and again declared the Maltese government's position in favour of a political, non-military solution. He said that justice should be made with those who were instigating violence.
