Managers from Playmobil Malta Ltd were recently brought together to take part in a team-building exercise which included indoor and outdoor activities designed to pro-mote teamwork, team bonding, leadership skills and team performance.

Chief executive officer Helga Ellul said the event helped bring to light not only managers’ concerns but also a strong team spirit and a desire to im-prove cooperation between all managers.

“We intend to tap into this outcome and pursue ways for allowing this spirit to cascade to other levels of management,” Mrs Ellul said.

The success of the event was evident from the participants’ comments.

Ivan Refalo, performance and development manager, said the experience “gave us the opportunity to realise what a great team we are”.

IT manager John Farrugia lauded the organisation of the event but emphasised that “what made it all happen was the team and the intense involvement by all”.

For Kenneth Micallef, product group manager, the event was an eye-opener which knocked down quite a few barriers and served to give a clearer perception of his colleagues’ qualities.

Marketing manager Anna Agius pointed out that the event served to confirm that “despite its diversity, a united team can achieve outstanding results when following a common goal”.
