The car pardoned oil trader George Farrugia claimed had been given to the Labour Party had been bought by One Productions through a barter agreement, the Labour Party said today.

The party said in a statement that contrary to what Mr Farrugia said, the car had not been given at the same time that then minister Tonio Fenech was given a crafted clock.

It said that Mr Farrugia had been pardoned to say all the truth about the oil scandal but, in this case, he did not.

But no lie would mitigate any of the facts which had come out so far and which implicated people within the PN in the biggest corruption scandal the country had ever seen.

The Opposition and Simon Busuttil could not remain silent to all the new facts that were being uncovered at the Public Accounts Committee and responsibility for the matter should be shouldered, the PL said.
