The Labour Party described as “extremely irresponsible” PN general secretary Chris Said’s statement that the e-mail he received from a Gozitan contractor never mentioned abuse, despite speaking of “works for votes”.

This, the party said, was no April Fool’s joke.

Dr Said had kept everything under wraps and was now seeking to justify the unjustifiable to protect himself and Simon Busuttil, it added.

Reacting, the PN said Joseph Muscat did not need April 1 to do unbelievable things, such as in the Café Premier and Cyrus Engerer cases.
