The Labour Party will hold a range of events for the family on May 1 ahead of its usual demonstration in Valletta to mark Labour Day.

Dr Toni Abela, deputy leader for party affairs, said at a press conference today that events start on April 28 with a national seminar on education. He said the seminar will tackle holistic education and it will be open for teachers, students and parents. It will be held at the Aula Magna of the Old University.

On May 1 the party will hold a range of activities on St George's square, Valletta.  They will include music, singing, dancing, discussions, children's activities, street theatre and other entertainment. There will be blood donations and fund-raising for Puttinu Cares.

The 'traditional walk' in Valletta will take place down Republic Street to St George's Square where Labour leader Joseph Muscat will deliver an address.
